We started the last term of the school year in full swing with a visit from Rt Rev’d Bishop Robert, Bishop of Tewkesbury, on Tuesday morning! The Bishop visits Church of England schools across Gloucestershire as part of his role so it was lovely to be able to welcome him to St Mark’s. After a tour of the school by Sam and Asa, two of our outstanding House Captains, Bishop Robert commented on how articulate the children were in being able to explain how the vision of the school ripples throughout all aspects of school life. He met with the staff and joined us for Collective Worship where he explained a little bit about his special role within Gloucestershire and answered some extremely thoughtful questions from the children. I was delighted by the way in which Bishop Robert left with a real sense of what St Mark’s is all about, commenting: ‘You have something very special here at St Mark’s, where you are known, loved and belong; it is in this environment where you can continue to live out your school’s vision: where you can grow and flourish into all you have been created to be.’ What a fantastic way to start the term!
Have a super weekend, everyone.
