Dear Y4 Parents,
Welcome back after half term. The term has started well and there are going to be plenty of exciting activities happening before Easter.
On a class PE day, the children will come to school wearing their PE kit with a house coloured T-shirt. It would be helpful for the children to have some extra layers to keep warm if the weather is on the cooler side. Remember on outdoor learning days, to dress in warm clothes (and ones you don't mind getting dirty) and a change of shoes - it can often get muddy! Waterproofs are also very useful as the weather often changes.

Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check
In June all Year 4 children will participate in the Online Multiplication Tables Check. There is a very clear expectation that all Y4 children know their tables fluently up to 12x12. If children are confident with their tables knowledge, it has a significant impact on fluency in maths as they move up through secondary school.
Children have six seconds to calculate and enter their response so this does not allow them the time to count up in any given table.
Any additional support at home using TT Rock Stars and the online tables test will be helpful. The online test is very similar to the one the children will complete in June.
On Wednesday 19th October Year 4 had a Greek Day. We had many exciting activities throughout the day to deepen our learning about The Ancient Greeks. Highlights included making Greek theatre masks thinking about which emotion they were depicting, making water clocks, tasting some traditional Greek food and then topped it off with a bit of Greek dancing.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
