At St Mark’s, Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to apply for an additional position of responsibility: School Prefect. This role is one of privilege, responsibility and service. Being a Prefect is about much more than wearing a badge; it requires commitment, maturity and a genuine willingness to support others throughout the school year. Prefects are positive role models who help to promote our Christian values and make a meaningful contribution to our school community.
Prefects play a key role in helping our lunchtimes run smoothly and ensuring that everyone feels happy, included and supported. They help younger children, encourage positive play and set an excellent example to others through their behaviour, attitude and care for the school community. Those selected as Prefects will receive training in Peer Mediation and will work closely with staff to support children and promote positive relationships.
Prefects will also assist House Captains as needed and will be called upon to take on additional leadership responsibilities throughout Year 6, helping to represent the school, support school events and contribute positively to the St Mark’s community.
