Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check

In June all Year 4 children will participate in the Online Multiplication Tables Check. There is a very clear expectation that all Y4 children know their tables fluently up to 12x12. If children are confident with their tables knowledge, it has a significant impact on fluency in maths as they move up through secondary school.

Children have six seconds to calculate and enter their response, so this does not allow them the time to count up in any given table.

Any additional support at home using TT Rock Stars will be beneficial. During the Autumn term, we intend to provide ten minutes a day for the children to access TT Rock Starts during the school day. There will also be a table to focus on each week. The tables in focus will be sent home with the weekly spelling list.

Year 4 Spelling

Children in each class will be given a copy of the Y3 and Y4 spelling this term. Both spelling rules will be covered in class and we encourage those children on the Y3 spelling list to also have a look at the Y4 spellings.
