At St Mark’s, we are proud to have an active and engaged School Council, with representatives elected from every class. Each year, children are given the opportunity to present to their classmates, explaining why they would like to take on the role of class councillor. They vote democratically using a secret ballot box and each child votes for one councillor and one vice councillor.
As a school, we value the thoughts, ideas and opinions of all our children and the School Council is a great way of ensuring the voice of the children is heard. Part of their role is to come up with ideas to help improve our school. Councillors regularly gather feedback from their classes, contribute to meeting agendas, and work together to bring forward ideas that help improve our school. In addition, the School Council takes an active role in organising events throughout the year.
