St Mark's CofE Primary School - Latest News
A busy - and successful - week for the football team! On Monday, in fading light, the A team were dominant against Prestbury St Mary's winning 10-0 whilst the B team showed fantastic resilience to come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
On Thursday, the A team were again dominant in a 7-0 win against Rowanfield with the B team also securing a convincing 7-2 win. Great respect and sportsmanship has been shown by all throughout as we have remained undefeated in the group stages.
As part of our religious education unit of studying other religions, year 5 visited the Gloucester Mosque this week. The children really enjoyed exploring the Mosque and learning more about Islam. They learnt about the ritual of washing as well as trying on traditional garments. As always the children were great and showed exemplary behaviour. Well done year 5!
A huge congratulations and thank you to two of our upper school children. Samuel and Henry performed piano pieces in Collective Worship on Monday this week. We were blown away by their courage to play in front of the whole school and by their brilliant performance skills. Well done boys we are really proud of you. Watch this space as we hope to make this a more regular occurrence!
An enormous THANK YOU!
We have had lots of fun in our feel good clothes, to raise money for Children in Need.
The children have been finding more out about how our money will be used to make a difference to others. We know that there are children in our own school community who’s lives are enhanced significantly by Children In Need funding. Our donations really do change lives.
As a result of your generous donations,
we have raised £370 WOW!
Odd Socks Day (Monday 13th!) and Anti– Bullying Week
On Monday 13th November we wore Odd Socks as a way of reminding ourselves that we're all unique and this is to be celebrated. Over the week we focused several of our learning sessions on what we mean by bullying and the word 'banter' and ways we can work together to stand up for what is right.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
