As a school community, we all gathered around our willow tree, with the children’s beautiful pictures and models of poppies as a focal point, to give thanks for and remember those who gave their lives so that we may know peace and freedom today.
After a short introduction, led by our House Captains, about the significance of this time, children sang a Remembrance Song followed by the Last Post. The school community then observed a minute’s silence with utmost respect and sensitivity.
Thank you to all those who were able to make poppies and to family members who were able to join us to enable the day to be marked in such a special way.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who are feeling the pain of loss at this time; may we bring peace, hope and love to others.
