What a wonderful way to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as a joint school community!
We have had a super day: Jubilee learning activities this morning, a street party lunch with the Infants, kicked off by everyone joining in with a hearty rendition of our National Anthem. We just loved being together with the Infants school and has definitely inspired us to do more ‘mix-up days’!
The children were then treated to a Mr Whippy—huge thanks to our PTA for organising and funding this—followed by a carousel of outdoor Jubilee activities!
We are truly honoured to be celebrating such a momentous occasion in our life-time. I hope we have been able to make memories for the children today, to add to those made during the Jubilee bank holiday, no doubt.
Enormous thanks also to Tarren Productions for supplying some fabulous giant outdoor games and beanbags for the children to enjoy in this glorious sunshine. Members of St Mark’s Church have also shared with us their display of photos of the queen together with a range of books, spanning from 1920s to the present day—the children have all been fascinated!
