Headteacher’s Message:
The end of another term is upon us; I can hardly believe that we are nearing the end of the whole school year! It has been an incredibly busy term once again and we still have a lot to look forward to. Please do keep an eye on all the upcoming events either through the school calendar or using these weekly newsletters.
During Collective Worship and Class Worship sessions, this week we have been exploring the festival of Pentecost, which will be celebrated this Sunday in churches across the country.
At Pentecost, Christians remember when crowds of people were filled with the presence of God, known as the Holy Spirit. This was represented by tongues of fire resting on the people’s heads (although no-one was harmed!) and a mighty wind blowing around them.
We used balloons to illustrate that, without air inside the balloon, it was pretty useless, but with air breathed into it, the balloon can do what it was made for!
We reflected that sometimes we can feel a bit flat, that we lack confidence to do things we know are before us—we feel a bit like a limp balloon!
We thought about the people that help to ‘breathe life’ into us, who give us courage to carry on. We gave thanks for these people and thought about ways we can show this friendship and love to for others, especially as we spend time with family and friends during the half term break!
With my best wishes for a super holiday —see you on Tuesday 6th June. Mrs A Fitch and the Staff Team
