Last Friday saw our year 6 take an educational trip to the GWR in Swindon where they had a fantastic opportunity to learn more about WWll.
Pupils spent time in an air raid shelter and went on board a 1940’s steam train.
They talked to an evacuee from the war called Fred who said he was only seven years old when he was sent to the countryside. His jobs included-collecting eggs from the chickens and taking the cows to the side of the road so they could eat the grass and he always brought them back when it got dark.Fred had a very strict family but it was also fun. Eva, Hattie, Ana & Ruby
“It was amazing!”said Eva
“it was awesome!”said Hattie
“It was like going back in time, like back to the future! “ said Ana
the bomb shelter was really scary Ruby
